NFL
Mobile App | 2022
Project Brief
Digital storytelling: to tell a story of a real place, location, or experience that you have visited.
Approach
The NFL London Games stood out as a topic, inspired by the experience of being a new fan of American football. There seemed to be a need for something to help newcomers understand the game while giving loyal fans a space to connect.
Reflecting on past game-day experiences, old photos, and moments of confusion helped shape the app’s features and focus.
Challenge
Finding the right balance between offering enough detail and keeping things simple was a major challenge. The app needed to be intuitive and easy to use for new fans while still providing in-depth content.
The integration of interactive and AI features also required careful thought to ensure they enhanced the user experience without overwhelming them.
Outcome
The final concept for the app successfully brings together education, interactivity, and convenience. With AI-powered personalisation, it offers a modern, user-focused experience that strengthens the connection between fans and the sport. Users can learn about teams, players, and the rules of the game, making it ideal for newcomers.
Meanwhile, returning fans can buy tickets and engage with others during games. Whether users want to catch up on the latest updates about American Football or check live scores, the NFL app is designed to be their go-to destination.
Reflection
Coming back and reflecting on this project, it is not unlike the Goodreads project, where the use of a touch-up and a polish could enhance the user experience of the app, highlighting the importance of continuous refinement to elevate the design and functionality.
